Blurbl (“the app”) is operated by Joshua Young, an individual sole proprietor (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Blurbl you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Blurbl presents public-domain literary works reformatted as chat-style conversations. We provide the app on an “as is” basis and may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
You need an account to use Blurbl. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher. You may delete your account at any time from Settings; deleting your account removes your profile, reading progress and favourites.
Blurbl offers an auto-renewing subscription called Blurbl Plus, which unlocks full access to every book in the catalogue. Without a subscription you may read a free preview of each book.
Prices are in US dollars and may vary by territory; the price shown in the app at the time of purchase is the price you pay.
Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account on confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the price of the plan you selected.
Managing and cancelling. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled solely by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store. Refund requests can be made at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Free trials and offers. If a free trial or introductory offer is available, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Trials convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
The literary works in Blurbl are in the public domain. Our formatting, adaptation, artwork, software and presentation are our own. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app for your own reading. You may not redistribute, resell, scrape or bulk-export content from the app, or use it to train machine-learning models.
Do not attempt to break, probe or circumvent the app’s security or payment systems, use it unlawfully, or interfere with other users’ access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You may stop using Blurbl at any time. Sections 4, 7 and 8 survive termination.
Blurbl is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
